Orangettes recipe-candied orange peel, dipped in chocolate

Orangettes are strips of candied orange peel, dipped in dark chocolate. They look great, served on a decorative dish along with coffee at the end of the meal and elegant gift. This recipe is a few steps long, but it can be doubled if you want more, acting for the time spent in the kitchen.

Ingredients:

• 1 large Navel orange

• 3/4 cups granulated sugar

• 1/2 cups water

• 3/4 cup chopped semisweet chocolate

Training:

Using machines, cut 3-inch long, 3/4-inch wide strips of orange peel of Orange. Bring a saucepan of water to a boil and cook for 10 minutes at the orange peel. Drain peels, rinse with cold water and boil in water for 10 minutes; Repeat this process for 1 more time.

Lead sugar and water to a boil in medium saucepan and stir occasionally until sugar is dissolved and the mixture has reduced just a little bit, about 5 minutes. Add the orange peels and continue simmering the mixture for 15 minutes. To candied orange peel on a wire rack and let it sit undisturbed for 45 minutes.

Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Put the chocolate in a double boiler of simmering water and stir until chocolate is melted and smooth. DIP 2/3 the length of each strip in chocolate candied Orange, leaving 1/3, Peel and place it on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.

This recipe is about 10-12 orangettes.
